if im a dream , if im a shadow
No one teaches you how to keep showing up when the world only claps for the winners.
But I've kept showing up quietly, stubbornly, again and again.
Some nights, when everything slows down, I ask myself what will truly remain of me, if I don't make it?
Not as an officer. Not as a headline. Just... me.
Will they remember the boy who stood outside the selection board, eyes tired but heart steady?
Will anyone know how much strength it takes to fail with grace and still dream again the next morning?
I've walked out of conference rooms without stars on my shoulders, but something deeper in my spine - resolve.
That's when I started to believe: Maybe man is just a dream of a shadow.
Not here to last forever but to touch something quietly while we're here.
I've begun to measure myself differently now.
Not in medals or results, but in moments.
In how my maa still says "tera time aayega" without a flicker of doubt. In the friends who sit with me in silence and somehow make it feel full.
In the two sisters I chose, not by blood, but by bond who remind me I've already won something.
Maybe I won't be remembered in history books.
But if I live on in the way someone learns to keep going, or how someone believes again when it's easier to quit then maybe that's enough.
If I'm a shadow, let me be the kind that teaches others how to walk tall, even in fading light.
If I'm a dream, let me be the kind that leaves behind just enough hope for someone else to chase theirs too.
